Current Roles

Indie Ninja Games Writer

Type: Part-Time Freelance, Remote, No Fixed Term
Salary: Dependent on experience, paid per game
Hours: We’re looking for someone who can work a minimum of 10 hours per week.

We’re looking for someone to help us discover and add new games to our indie game showcase site, Indie Ninja.

The role is a mix of data entry (adding pictures, text, and vital information on each game), research (finding out who works at each studio, their past projects and what people currently think of the game), and writing descriptions.

You’ll be using Dropbox Paper and our custom built CMS which works similar to WordPress.

The ideal person for this role would be someone who plays indie games obsessively and has an eye for interesting and unique games that others would be interested in. We’re creating a site designed to help people find their new favourite game, so we need someone who is very passionate about games, with varied taste.

We’ve been adding games here in the office and we think that a game should take around 30-40 minutes to add once you’re used to the system, depending on the type of game.

We’re looking for someone who already has games writing experience, but this can come from anywhere including volunteer positions at gaming sites or even your own blog.

You will need to be available on Slack for catch-ups during work hours. We’re based in the UK, so you’d need to be contactable during GMT afternoons.

How to Apply

Drop us an email among the following information:

  • Your rates, per game, based around the above estimate
  • The minimum and maximum amount of hours you want to work, and any dates in the near future where you will be unavailable
  • Tell us about the best indie game you’ve played so far this, and why you like it
  • Link us to a piece of games writing you’ve had published online (This can be from your own blog or another site)
